Students with Opportunity to Show Their Style

  • Three teams of amateur video artists produced Azuñia Tequila videos around the Vans US Open of Surfing – videos released for public viewing.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA, September 25, 2013 – Azuñia Tequila believes that the next generation is our future and as part of Azuñia’s “Celebrate the Adventures of Life” mantra the brand gave three teams the opportunity to produce a video. Azuñia would promote the videos as a means to give the teams’ real-life experience working with a brand and a chance to add to their production portfolio. The teams were offered an incentive of one-thousand dollars in cash plus a gift package.

“I was impressed with the final videos the teams put together for Azuñia,” said Jim Riley, CEO, Azuñia Tequila. “I believe that the best way for amateurs to truly learn is with experience. I am happy to give them the opportunity to produce videos around Azuñia’s US Open of Surfing activities. Azuñia will continue to give the next generation a chance to show their style and I encourage other brands to do the same. ”

The teams were challenged to attend multiple days of the Van’s US Open of Surfing and document the event activities, Azuñia’s athlete Sunny Garcia surfing in the competition and Azuñia activation at local venues.

The teams’ producers were Samantha Gonzales, Joshua Fanning with Scott Haddad and Daniel Zamalloa. Teams of Samantha Gonzales, Joshua Fanning and Scott Haddad have produced a variety of amateur videos; this project was Daniel Zamalloa debut into video producing. The videos will be featured on Azuñia’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/azuniatequila
