Bird of Paradise

This gorgeously appointed drink was created by Peter Barriga of El Dorado DTLA for a tasting event at Tales of the Cocktail spirits industry event in New Orleans. Peter was inspired to develop a unique cocktail with many layers. A rich combination of Azuñia Black tequila, Mestizo Añejo, Cruzan Black Strap, Bruto Americano, Charcoal Simple Syrup, and Tamarindo Syrup is delightfully sweetened with pineapple and lime. Garnished with pineapple, pineapple leaves, and edible flower enhance this cocktails nuanced flavors.

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 oz. Azuñia Black Tequila
  • 0.5 oz. Mestizo Añejo
  • 0.5 oz. Cruzan Black Strap
  • 0.5 oz. Bruto Americano
  • 0.5 oz. charcoal simple syrup
  • 0.25 oz. tamarindo syrup
  • 0.25 oz. pineapple juice
  • 0.5 oz Lime Juice
  • Garnish:
  • Pineapple Leaves
  • Edible Flowers
  • Pineapple Slice
  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker tin with ice.
  2. Shake.
  3. Strain into a glass.
  4. Garnish.
